Phoenix Players is a nonprofit community theatre organization in Northeast Wisconsin, dedicated to producing quality shows that enrich the local arts scene and engage audiences of all ages.

Meet the people behind the creation of Phoenix Players


Brandon Byng

Brandon Byng hails from Coleman, WI, and has been passionately involved in theatre ever since he was 15 years old. Over the last 20+ years, he has accumulated extensive and diverse experience, having directed more than 80 plays and musicals spanning a wide variety of genres and styles. In addition to his impressive directing work, Brandon is also a skilled and versatile actor who has brought to life a broad range of memorable characters on stage. His dedication to the craft is evident through his active participation in several respected theatre organizations, including Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay, WI, Box In The Wood Theatre Guild in Shawano, WI, Theatre On The Bay in Marinette, WI, and Coastal Players, which is also located in Marinette, WI.

Mary-Beth Kuester

Mary-Beth Kuester is originally from Clintonville, WI, and currently resides in Antigo, WI. She built a successful career in marketing and public relations during her time in Madison, WI. Her introduction to theatre began with Attic Theatre in Appleton, WI. Throughout her involvement with the Box in the Wood Theatre Guild in Shawano, WI, she took on multiple roles, including acting, directing, and producing numerous plays. Additionally, Mary-Beth served as president of the Shawano County Arts Council, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to the local arts community. A former dance teacher, she remains actively engaged in the arts as a member of the Wisconsin Dance Council, reflecting her ongoing commitment to supporting and promoting artistic endeavors.
